TINA WILSON: SHE CHOSE ME

I have two sistas born by my parents and they didn’t have the privilege to choose me. They were born in the same family after me, so they didn’t have much of a choice but to accept me. Sometimes I am good to them, at other times not so good to them.  They can choose not to speak to me for a while but they cannot make the decision to ‘unsista’ me. You see, they are stuck with me.

Then there are other sistas who choose you.  Tina Wilson, chose me.  She had not even met me when she chose me. I first noticed someone called Tina Wilson existed on Facebook. I was teaching discipleship classes our weekly word for word Bible study and she will always be one of the first people to come online.  Apparently, she knew my Coach and sista; Anna McCoy and she decided to extend her love to me as a sista. When I realised that she joined our 9.00am WAT studies faithfully and consistently and it came to my attention that she lived in Dallas, Texas, I considered the sacrifice she had to make to get up to join the classes considering the time zone she was in and I could tell that she made a commitment to. That intrigued me, but after a while I attributed it to her interest in growth and learning.

Then there was the Anna Experience event in Texas that I attended and I met Tina in the flesh for the very first time.  From that day, from the way she hugged me and the honour with which she spoke to me, I could tell that she loved me and has decided to be my sista.  I don’t have too many sistas so when I get to find one who makes the commitment to me, I am not just grateful, I make a commitment to them too.  Tina chose me and I decided to choose her right back.

One with a very calm but firm way of making her point heard and getting her way. She is deliberate in how she serves, I am sure not just me but also others she has chosen to love.  I have been to her home and seen how she handles her mother and the one thing I am certain of is that what you see is what you get and this has endeared her to me even more.  Tina is reliable, I can commit something to her hands and be sure she would deliver without a fuss. She is thoughtful, she envisages what is required and makes allowances to make them happen and all of this she does willingly.

Most importantly, Tina loves God and she desires so much more of Him, and I celebrate that in her.  Who would have thought that God will be able to raise sistas from such faraway place simply to love me?

Dear Tina, I wanted to publicly say to you today and for always that I appreciate your touch on my life.  I love that you are intentional in keeping us going and that you are observant and discerning to know when I require more from you.  Thank you for choosing to be my sista, thank you for making me a member of your family and for making my family yours.  Thank you for the sacrifices you make to put a smile on my face.  Most importantly, thank you for your humble heart and spirit and for your pursuit of God.  It is my prayer and indeed I know it is God’s heart that your reward will come.  I truly love you from the depth of my heart, I celebrate you and all you will be and become.  You are loved more than you will ever know.

Thank you for bringing your power to my Sistahood. Thank you… and oh, I choose you too.
