Reward

The Reward Makes the Pursuit

The woman who goes into the delivery room must have heard about the contractions leading to childbirth. She must feel the pangs and hold on to the process if her baby will be born. Once she finishes the process and holds the baby, if you ask, she might be able to tell you the contractions were tough, but I bet she will tell you it was all worth it!

I have no idea what you are relentlessly pursuing this year, I know what my own goals are and I have been trying to set the processes in place. Whether you are working on yourself, or a dream or a marriage or pushing the parenting truck, there is a reward at the end of it all.

A wise man once told me that when I start to get weary I should take my eyes off the process and focus on the end result. If your dream is to have a great marriage then every time your spouse becomes even more difficult, just see in your mind’s eye what you can do with him/her when your marriage becomes great, and the difficulty will be a lot more bearable.

Pursuing anything at all is usually a process, process is method, and method is one step in front of the other. Relentlessly pursuing is not magic, it is not the waving of a wand, it is submitting to the processes with your eyes on the reward. Just knowing that there is a reward is the reason the athlete endures training and keeps pushing.

For everything you conquer, you need to remember that you will get a reward at the end. A life of righteousness qualifies you for a crown and a mansion in heaven; this makes the drudgery of working out your salvation bearable if not enjoyable.

The bible says that Jesus, for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross… inside of every pursuit is both a cross and a crown. The trick is to keep our eyes on the crown and submit to the cross.

No matter what you will be working on and pursuing this year, remember that ultimately, there is a reward and if you will focus on the goal, you will be surprised when the journey is over, how soon it all ended!

Keep on running, keep on pursuing because there is a prize waiting for you at the finish line, my prayer is that you will get there … ultimately.

In my own opinion I believe in hard work because it is worth it. Also at the end of it all we have our crowns to receive with stars on it in heaven. This all the more encourages us to keep it up in all our endeavours and struggles in the good faith. Again we should not be distracted as we move on in our responsibilities. As this will slow us down and even hinder us from achieving great results. When going about our duties we should not leave out anything undone but make sure we treat every matter thoroughly. By ensuring to this, God`s hand will not be short towards us neither will he be far from us. We should also take corrections when given and always be ready to learn. Seeking for various ways to improve our lives and skills is also very important in our journey of life. Another good idea to note is also learning from our past mistakes.
