It is a brand new year, and I am running. I will keep running towards the mercy seat, where Jesus is calling, his grace will be my covering, his blood will flow freely, it will provide the healing, I am running to the mercy seat…
Lord I come in this new year, believing in your mercy, knowing that if I will look up to the hill from where my help comes I will make it. I recognize that it is not by power, neither is it by might, it is by your Spirit and your mercy that I have seen this new day and will continue to see new days ahead.
If I had wings maybe I will fly, if I could sing maybe I will sing a melody but I come just the way I am, knowing that your mercy will see me through. The truth Lord is that I have never been in 2011 before, but I know you have been here from the beginning and therefore you know all that this year holds.
I trust in your mercy not to give me the just recompense for my sinful nature. I trust in your grace to ensure that the glory and honor I do not deserve you will bestow on me.
I trust in your WORD that never changes, that says that you will never leave me nor forsake me.
I will keep running with my face set like a flint. I will keep running towards the mercy seat where I know Jesus’ blood will be available to set me free.
When I hit a wall, I will run to your mercy. When I break a law, I will run to your mercy. When I fall on my face, to your mercy I will run.
When I get the victory, I will remember it was your mercy, when the enemy is sent back from my life I will remember it was your mercy. If I win a trophy, I will raise it high to your mercy. If I win awards, I will recognize that it was your mercy.
Please don’t withdraw your mercy from me in this year, as I pursue you, as I run, may I run according to your pattern because your mercy is all that I need.
When the winds rage, when the storms rise, it is to your mercy that I will run, because I know that Jesus is waiting at the mercy seat to cover me with his WORD and heal me with his blood.
The song in my heart, Lord is I will come running to your mercy seat…
