I have always enjoyed Remi Roy‘s very unassuming yet deeply thought out writings. I have read her over the years we have shared work on the pages of Effectual magazine, and I am simply thrilled that her gift gets to get to you the reader.
From the sidelines for me is not just a powerful retelling of different biblical stories but an affirmation that if we looked hard enough we are all written into the fabric of the Word of God.
Roy’s graphic imaging put me right in the biblical times the stories were set. I could breathe the clean mountain air with Bezaleel, I could feel the defeat and humiliation of Zaresh and I wondered if I could make it right for her.
Reading about Joseph made me think about my sons and whisper a quick prayer to heaven that their testimony will glorify God as Joseph’s did.
Like Peter, I thought about my father-in-law and I remembered how God saved him, and it made me deepen my resolve to hold on to this great God!
From the Old Testament into the New Testament, Roy has been able to bring the Bible to life for you and me… finding our way is easier because the Bible is brought to us in the language we all understand and speak. Five Men and A Well; threw me… I saw myself in every word, every sentence, every page… then I take another look at my life today, and I know for sure, life may have sidelined me, but God wrote me in. I was grafted in, and I am in forever.
You will not only enjoy a great literary piece in this book, you will most definitely see yourself and feel God’s love all the way.
