The children of Israel had barely spent enough time in the Promised Land when they started to agitate for a King. The idea of having a human as king over them was extremely riveting; at least now they can go to their king and make their demands or complaints, rather than go to the Prophet, who in turn will go to God.
They didn’t realise that having a king could be any kind of fun but having dwelt in the Promised Land and seen how the neighbouring nations lived under the rule of a king it became fascinating. So they cried out to God and asked for a king; nothing was going to appease them except a King, so God gave them a King in Saul.
It is very funny how they received this king they were given, all they had to say was that he was taller than most men and looked like a King. So the children of Israel got their King. The only snag is it was not time for them to have a King; God had prepared for them one King after his own heart, but they were in a hurry, so they adjusted the blueprint of their lives…we all know how that story ended.
Another day, another story same people, another dispensation this time, God wants them to go minister to the gentiles and all that comes to mind is that they were unclean and immediately God rebukes and says; don’t call that which I have cleansed unclean. A mind set had been shifted, and possibly a blueprint adjusted this time; all is well that ends well.
The blue print is that plan that should never be altered, if we want to get to the result we set out to get. The blueprint is the compass and a map with which we travel if we will arrive at our destination. So we might arrive; we must never alter the blueprint; consequently we use the blueprint instead of as a GPS to get us there, as a crutch for settling; after all, we must never alter the blueprint.
Yes, we must never alter the blueprint I totally agree, especially when it was conceived by the Master Planner who knows all things. However, some adjustment is required still. Not to the blueprint but to us who work the blueprint because it is meant to move us closer to destiny yet we are still far away. Maybe we need to adjust our frequency or our sails or maybe our attitude.
For when we are bold to make this change, only then can we truly live to make it into destiny. Blueprints may be fixed, but our mindsets must continually shift to help us align with the times and the seasons.
The problem wasn’t that God didn’t want to give the children of Israel a king; the problem was that the right king was still in preparation. It was part of the blueprint but it came a decade or more too early and for that many were ruined. Blueprints are for a reason; however great they are, we should never forget that they are still subject to the one who set them in place and while we should do our best to stick to His plan for us let’s never forget that more than the plan, there is a God to whom we must align so we can work our blueprints according to his dictates. Because you see, seasons change.
Tell me, what might you need to adjust, so you are aligned?
Blessings.
