THE MOMENT OF CHOICE

At the beginning of this year, God spoke a few things to my heart.  The major one for me was that my year will be paved with adventure.  I believed the word, and I did my best to prepare to walk in it.  However, I quickly realised that you cannot adequately prepare for adventure but that didn’t mean that I could not prepare.  So I prepared.

How did I prepare for Adventure, I am sure you are wondering.  Well, it was pretty easy actually.

The preparation for an adventurous life or year is more spiritual and mental than it can ever be physical.

That early in the year I had to settle within me what I would speak when the time came.  I had to decide what I was going to allow in my space when the time came.  I had to agree with myself, what kind of people I would travel with and should I have no control over what kind of people, I had to decide how I would travel and keep myself from evil and harm.  So I prepared.

I took the time to prepare spiritually; I prayed, I fasted, and I dwelt even more in the Word than I did the past year.  I knew this was an adventure because the mouth of my Father had spoken it.  I had no details, but I was sure that if the time came, these decisions I had made up front would keep me in perfect peace.  So I prepared!

The first sign that it was going to be a different year showed up in the conversations that were making the rounds concerning the economy.

Most people I knew were preparing for the worst.  They were putting restrictions in place, and a lot of people were cutting back.  Yes, it made sense that when this kind of economic rollercoaster showed up, people should cut back and be careful.  However, beyond that was what God spoke to my heart.  He told me to be careful what I spoke and what I allowed people suggest to me.  I took Him at His word literarily, and I dare say I am the better for it.

There were so many other signs of adventure that showed up. And every time, the decision I had made before they showed up have helped me stand regardless of what I see.

Friends, the moment of decision is not when you decide what you will do in any given situation.

Decisions must have been thought through, considerations made and choices made.  What you make your decision based on tells a lot about who you are and how far you will go.  I decided to make them based on a few things which include: God’s character, His Word, His DNA in me, His mandate for my life and what my walk with Him in the past has birthed in me by way of experience.

I recognise that in the end, each and every one of us must make a decision one way or the other. As a matter of fact, even not making a decision is already a decision.  So none of us is exempt from this moment.

I have the responsibility to decide to rejoice in God’s nature when everyone else is weeping because of man’s nature.  I have decided that the economy of the world is too unstable for me to rely upon, so I choose the economy of heaven.

It is my choice that I will take God at His word every time; it is simply too expensive to try otherwise.  The question is what did you decide?  Because folks, whether you recognise it or not the moment of decision is just around the corner.  My prayer is that you will choose well.

This edition is packed full as usual.  Our God’s Leading Lady is my Sista and friend, Mayokun Oreofe – great power packed in a very small frame.  One woman I can assure you decided before her moment of decision showed up.  Don’t only enjoy her story, be inspired and blessed to arise to your specific DNA.

All our usual is served.  Mentality speaks to Building Blocks of the Eternal.  On According to Luke, Dr Luke takes a critical look at The Lingering Matter of Depression and In The Mix looks at Hidden Treasures.

Please sit down and fasten your seat belt. This promises to be one great ride.  On Sista Power, we celebrate Bemigho Omayuku, talk about an outstanding DNA.

I can understand that some of the decisions you will have to make may not be clear for you to make detailed plans regarding them, but I can categorically tell you that if you make the right decisions based on the pillars of your faith, when the specifics of your decisions arise, you will already have the right foundation to sail on.

My prayer is that you will bring forth even before you travail in Jesus name.

From all of us at Effectual, we are honoured to be part of your life.  Please share this delight with your friends and family.

Blessings!
