You know how when you’re a student, it almost feels like a crime to say you do not have a writing pen? It was an unspoken rule, but it was an important one, still is. A student must have a pen!
Well, everyone has at least one item they tend to carry around as a ‘must have’. For many people, it’s the wallet or purse, some women just love their shades and some, scarves amongst many other items. Here are some 5 compulsory items for the 2017 woman to have sitting somewhere in your wardrobe.
- WIGS
These days, they are literally everywhere in all shapes, sizes and designs of them – long, medium, cropped, braided or weaved. I have to say, wigs are a welcome trend for this season. The weather change isn’t playing and it is important women keep their natural hair protected from the harsh weather and from too much salon visits that end up in headaches (they say beauty is pain though) or sometimes hair loss. Most important though, is the ‘handy’ factor; when occasions arise, making your hair is one less things to worry about, and you can decide to wear a new look every other day, yayyy!
- RUBBER ACCESSORIES
Rubber is taking over y’all. Almost every fashion item now comes in rubber, from wristwatches, phone covers, bags and even shoes and you can barely distinguish them from their leather counterparts. The benefits of having at least one rubber item in each category are many; easy to clean, not destroyed in water, easy to wear and they are relatively cheap to say the least.
- WALLET/PURSE
Ladies, it never looks good sighting a lady squeezing money in the palm or having the pockets of your jeans bulging from phones stuck in there. And how embarrassing that you open your palm to exchange money or pick a call and its all sweaty from the tight palm grip. A lady should always have her purse.
- Black dress
This one never goes out of trend. The thing about the black dress is that you can almost never get it wrong (except you’re wearing the wrong size), the best part being where you can match it with any colour of accessories. Except when you’re going someplace or attending a function where a specific colour is prescribed, black is always a safe choice. It is important however, to make your choice of length and design based on the occasion. While the LBD is safe for office and casual outings, a corporate event will require a bold, full length dress.
- SMILE!
You weren’t expecting that one were you? But it’s not a fashion item, you say. Nothing is as timeless as one who approaches with a cheerful spirit and a friendly smile. It speaks confidence, an easy to approach disposition and contentment; and do I have to say, a smile brightens your face, which is the first thing most people notice about you. Whatever designer you’re wearing and regardless of how expensive, a frown will ruin your appearance. Let your smile be your ‘pen’, carry it everywhere with you as a matter of necessity.
